Table Quiz, Raffle, Talks, Craic and Beverages

Jools Holland's got nothing on us...

It's been in the planning for quite some time, and we're getting close to finalising going public!

  • The Official BVAS Astro-Hootannany

A jampacked event full of craic, laughter, interesting presentations, our inaugural Table Quiz, a Raffle to win tickets to see Prof. Brian Cox at the 3Arena in November and just a barrel of laughs throughout the day.

We are working on organising an afternoon of 'astronomy talks', a 'table quiz' and our inaugural 'raffle' on Setepmber 26th when we have a full moon and potential for some observation through our 8inch Club Scope too.

The schedule for this year's event is laid out as thus;

  1. 1400hrs: Meet & Greet in bar
  2. 1500hrs: Astronomy Talks
  3. 1800hrs: Table Quiz
  4. 2000hrs: Prof. Brian Cox Tickets Raffle
  5. 2200hrs: Live Music
  6. 2300hrs: Lunar Observing Session (weather permitting)

The BVAS Table Quiz

"We're in the early stages of finalising the content for our first annual "Astro-Hootananny" and intend on keeping it rather simple this year in 2026, that way we can deliver something awesome and build for 2027 and what will hopefully be a premiere event on the astronomy calendar every year.
